I tried to capture her look of amused trickery. Her face in the fore ground was done in color pencil, her shirt eyes and background are represented in collage. That is supposed to be a fire in the background. I wonder who set it.....

This is my cousin Sid. It was his birthday 2 days ago. Happy Birthday Sid! I like this one alot though I think I overdid it a bit due to the time it took. If I am gonna do these every day I am going to have to keep it more simple. As you can see I use the pointillist technique. Lots off little dots. I am trying to add something personal to each subject. For Sid he is a member of Iota Phi Theta hence the gold used on the glasses. My bum is glad that this one is done. :)

Day 1.

This is my buddy Hopkins. Thanks for sending this Louu! This was a fun one. I used India Ink, Acrylic paint, and these cool ruby, sapphire and gold metallic paints on top of a newspaper collage. Happy with it for the time spent. If I were to do anything more I would do a subtle color wipe in the background or something abstract. Backgrounds are my Achilles. but that's what practice is for. Feedback is welcome :) Peace People!

30 paintings in 30 days (roughly)

Hello Friends,
Its been a while. A few of you know that I am having major surgery tomorrow and will be out of commission for 4-6 weeks. In light of this I have committed myself to producing 30 portraits in 30 days (it may be a bit more, taking weekends off :))
Because of all you amazing people I have had the opportunity to meet I would like to feature you in my works. I am asking that any interested parties send me a high res photo of yourself. It can be a classic photo of your face, an interesting side or 3/4 view, the back of your head, your favorite shoe, anything goes here people as long as it represents you. I hope to start mid August.
